Well spotted ! But no, the metal clip solution still works a treat
But in general I think we need more infos about the assembled parts (suppliers ?)

to some one with a TF:
are the TF also so bad coated as the LE500:

look at inside. No paint at the innser side of the doors, the front windows frame or the inside floor.
My F is at all these parts blue, like the outside.

Or is this another point to save costs? :)

That made me wonder as well. At first I wanted to leave out linking to this pic but it seems to grab the most attention. On the F all inner parts are painted as well (of course ;) )

Easy explanation. The serial production used to use the dipping coat facilities for the body at once coating at Longbridge. Beside of the doors, these had been always spray coated.
(also it's for sure none-economic to run a dipping coat for 25 bodies per year per colour. ;)
What do you think where they mooved it the dipp coating ??
So the whole body needs to get spray coated by hand, no robots, no automation. An expensive job if done well. So they left out the inner parts of the body.

Errmm, I wonder how long a LE500 or LE85 model will last before it sadly rusts away ?
I think the FAQ needs to be reworked for new MG TF models, section rust protection. May be worth giving a hint to Pete on that matter, cause I have the old DINOL diagrams online where and what to treat at the MGF. TF is the same inside.

Okay Adrian you asked
(removal of the underbonnet cover mandatory haha)

- Engraved number on the steering rack gearbox
- Improved wiper motor / linkage / protection ?

Nothing else comes to mind and I know this will be almost impossible.
Nevertheless can't wait for the pics :)

ps: the apricot jam with amaretto is the best I've ever tasted !!!

OK Herbie, I'll try and get pictures for you.

I'm glad you liked it, what about the Old Crafty Hen or are you not opening that ?

By the way, there's an 85LE for sale on E Bay already (but I forgot to get the link, if I remember correct it's £15,495 or near to..

OCH bottle still closed, will wait for a special moment to enjoy it !
The chutney glass is also almost empty, I'm a jam fan

Re the number on the rack's gearbox I don't know if it's still on the list for Dieter.
-> http://www.mgfregister.org/forum/viewto ... f=8&t=3302

Would be even more confusing if there's another number yet !
Say hi to Simon from me btw !!!

The LE85 is sold by Hopton Garage in Staffs -> no. 250456256778
